Washington, I Miss You

Today is one of those days when I miss Olympia, WA even more than usual. It is too sunny for my liking. I miss having gelato from bayview, walking around the lake and going to the local Goodwill, Ross or Marshalls.  I miss the chilly winter days. The cold that used to bite my face when I was walking down to the bus stop. How green and alive everything seemed, especially after it rained. I miss standing on the back porch and looking at Mt. Rainier on those rare clear days. I miss the sunrises and sunsets that turned the sky into a canvas of warm colours. But most of all, I miss my family and everything about them. There really isn’t much I can say except that I really miss and love every single one of them.

So I’m just sitting here in the middle of the library listening to live performances from KEXP because that is the closest I can get to the PNW.
