Yay book shopping!

Le Salon International de l’Edition et du Livre de Casablanca is an annual event that is held in Casablanca where editors from all over the world can come to display and sell books. I first heard about the S.I.E.L. when I was in sixth grade. At the time, I had just started reading the Harry Potter series which was my initiation to reading. Over the years, I would just ignore when it since it was usually held around the time of my exams. Plus I never actually saved up enough money to go. That is the main reason I did not go last year. However, I promised myself I would attend the 2013 edition, which is why I saved up a bit of money that would all go to my visit to the S.I.E.L. I kind of felt like going there would be like going to Powell’s in Portland, one of my absolute favourite places in the world!

A couple of weeks ago I started making a list of all the books I would get if I find them there. I was even considering writing about asking about your own suggestions of books I should read. Unfortunately, I have just now checked when it will happen. The 19th edition of the S.I.E.L. will be held between March 29th and April 7th 2013. In other circustances, I would do everything to go. But I guess I’m gonna have to wait for next year since that week is the busiest I will have all semester with the Talent Show rehearsals, the Fun Run and the Open House at my University.

To all those people who have some free time during that week, please make your way to Casablanca! This, in fact, is the second event I want to attend around that time but can’t because I will have to stay in Ifrane. My studies and community service come before everything else I guess.
